Summer Blast is a 3-day kids’ event hosted by Word of Life Church! For three days it is our mission to create an atmosphere where kids can experience God in a way they will never forget! Each day, they will learn a big idea, followed by a Bible verse, then practical ways to put these ideas into practice every day! Summer Blast is going to be an experience you won’t want to miss!

My child needs special accommodations during Summer Blast. What is available for them?2022-05-18T15:05:48-05:00

At Summer Blast we are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment that allows all children to access worship and ministry. Although we are not able to accommodate kids with special needs now. It is our desire to have this available in the future. If your child needs special accommodations during Summer Blast, and you feel like they would still be able to have a good experience, please email Jheri Thomas at jthomas@thelife.cc for more information.

Will you be able to administer any medication to my child during Summer Blast?2022-05-18T15:04:48-05:00

Thank you for understanding that we will not be able to administer any over-the-counter or prescription medications during Summer Blast, except in the case of an Epi-Pen or a rescue inhaler because these are lifesaving medications.

My child has a food allergy. What should we do?2022-05-18T15:04:08-05:00

We want to support your family with excellence at Summer Blast and want you to help us decide what your child can safely eat. During registration, you will be given the option to indicate that your child has a food allergy. After completing your registration, you will receive an email two weeks prior to Summer Blast to let know you what snacks will be served each day. This email will also contain instructions on how to send approved snacks to Summer Blast with your child if needed.

My child has a rescue inhaler. How should we send it to Summer Blast?2022-05-18T15:03:39-05:00

Please send your child’s rescue inhaler (and spacer, if needed) in a plastic zip top bag with their first and last name written on it to the first day of Summer Blast. Please give the rescue inhaler to your child’s group leader when you drop your child off for the day. Their group leader will keep the inhaler with them at all times.

My child has an Epi-Pen. How should we send it to Summer2022-05-18T15:12:31-05:00

Please send your child’s Epi-Pen in a plastic zip-top bag with their first and last name and allergen written on it to the first day of Summer Blast. Please give the Epi-Pen to your child’s group leader when you drop your child off for the day. Their group leader will keep the Epi-Pen with them at all times.

Summer blast will not be an overnight conference.

What age can my child be a leader?2022-05-18T15:02:04-05:00

Children entering 9th grade and up can serve at Summer Blast. Your child must be 16 years or older in order to lead a small group. Children who currently serve as a junior lab assistant will be required to serve with their parent.

Will lunch or snacks be served during Summer Blast?2022-05-18T15:01:37-05:00

Snacks will be served each day. Lunch will not be provided. If your child has a food allergy, you will be given the option to indicate their allergy during the registration process.

Childcare will not be provided for leaders serving at Summer Blast

Can my child just meet me outside at the end of the morning?2022-05-18T14:18:43-05:00

You must come pick your child up in their small group area at 12:00 PM each day. You must present your child’s claim ticket to their small group leader. You will then need to show your claim ticket AGAIN at the exit doors, so please keep your ticket with you. If you have designated someone else to pick up your child, you need to fill out proper information during online registration.

Can my child be in the same group as their friends?2022-05-18T14:17:43-05:00

Yes; as long as they are in the same grade.

What do I do to check-in when I arrive with my child?2022-05-18T14:17:10-05:00

We will begin checking children in at 7:30 AM each day. At 8:30 AM, you may then take your child to the designated seating area for his/her group and meet your child’s group leader. It is not necessary to bring your online confirmation form with you.

How old does my child need to be to attend Summer Blast?2022-05-18T14:16:45-05:00

Summer Blast is for children entering first grade in the fall through the 5th grade (going into the 6th grade in the fall)
